Khalid Mansoor Elected as President OICCI

The incoming OICCI President, Khalid Mansoor, in his message to the members said that OICCI’s active promotion of Pakistan as a land of opportunity with considerable growth potential especially for foreign investors, participation in streamlining taxation system, policy input on resolving energy supply gap, improving security environment especially in Karachi and improving Intellectual Property Rights in Pakistan, are some of the practical initiatives appreciated by the government, media and other key stakeholders. Century of Nadeem Sheikh Powers PVCA to Victory Over Canada Seniors

They will be playing four more matches during the tour, having been organized by the Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) and sponsored by Omar Associates (Pvt) Ltd.Put into bat, PVCA Seniors recovered to post a fighting total of 248 for nine in the allotted 35 which they defended successfully by restricting the visitors to 234 for nine.It was the 144-run fourth wicket stand between opener Nadeem Shaikh andAzhar Khan which revived the PVCA innings after they had lost three wickets for 50. Nadeem Shaikh struck 19 boundaries in his 106 off 85 balls whileAzhar Khan smashed eight boundaries in his 60 off 46 balls.Skipper Fawad Ijaz Khan, who remained unbeaten on 12 off 13 balls and Adnan Malik (11 off seven balls) added vital runs in the closing stages to take the total to 248. Public Awareness Minimize the Burden of Leprosy,Dr.Sikandar Ali Mandhro

Karachi (Cliff News)Leprosy elimination is successfully being achieved, however elimination is not the end of Leprosy. There are many challenges in terms of physical and social rehabilitation, which will go on even in the post elimination phase. Achievement of gradual elimination of leprosy was because of the concerted efforts by a team of committed workers. Leprosy elimination does not mean that disease has been eradicated from the country. It is appealed to the people to do away with stigma attached to disease and tendency to ostracize the sufferer. There is need to create public awareness to minimize the burden of this disease. These views were expressed by Provincial Health Minister, Dr. Sikandar Ali Mandhoro, Dr. Ruth Pfau, Founder, MALC and Mr. Mervyn Lono, CEO while sharing his views in Annual Function held at Art Council to commemorate World Leprosy Day. Senior Board Members of MALC, patients and people from all walk of life attended the function.Dr. Sikandar Ali Mandhoro appreciating the efforts of Dr. Ruth Pfau said that she is a living legend. She sacrifices his entire life for the leprosy patients in Pakistan. Legend like her will always remain in the heart of peoples.
