Karachi(Cliff News)Mr. Alamgir Firoz, Chairman Standing Committee on Diplomatic Affairs along with Mr. Gulzar Firoz Chairman Standing Committee on Environment and members of Pakistan-Germany Business Council of FPCCI welcomed Mr. Carsten Muller, Head of Mission of the German Consulate on his visit to Federation House Karachi.Mr. Alamgir Firoz said that Germany is Pakistan’s largest trading partner among the EU countries. He said major items of Pakistan exports to Germany are textile and textile made-ups, leather goods, carpets, surgical instruments, cutlery, rice and horticulture products, whereas machinery, pharmaceuticals, motor vehicles, chemicals and dyes, iron and steel products, figure in imports.Mr. Carsten Muller, Head of Mission of the German Consulate said that Pakistan is the important member of EU, many German companies are working in Pakistan for many years with major investments in Pakistan that include Linde, BASF, Bayer, Merck, Hoechst, Siemens and METRO. He emphasized that our business communities should increase the investment and avail opportunity of our good relations between the two countries.At the conclusion of the meeting Mr. Alamgir Firoz presented a Book and Report on Environment, Health and Safety to Mr. Carsten Muller, Head of Mission of the German Consulate.Mr. Zubair F. Pakistan Goes Down 3-0 against Australia in 2nd Hockey Test

Darwin(Cliff News)Pakistan gave an improved performance in the 2nd match of the 4-test series against Australia, the world’s no 1 team, at the Marrara hockey stadium in Darwin.The hosts,  who had won 6-1 in the opening test,  today defeated Pakistan 3-0.It was a fast paced game and both the sides had several chances off open play as well as penalty corners. However, the hosts had the better of the exchanges most of the time. All the three Aussie goals came through field attempts.In the first test, Pakistan had seemingly lost the script completely in the final phase and conceded four goals in the last 16 minutes. Today, they fought well till the end. Kookaburras, who had gone ahead by three goals in the 33rd minute, couldn’t add to their tally in the remaining time.

Australia Out Class Pakistan by 6-1 in 1st Hockey Test

Darwin (Cliff News)The 4-test hockey series between world’s top side Australia and the 14th ranked Pakistan kicked off at the Marrara hockey stadium in Darwin, the capital city of Australia’s Northern Territory.The gulf in the rankings showed in the game as the Aussies dominated the proceedings most of the time and defeated Pakistan by the tennis score of 6-1.
Half Time: 2-0.Kookaburras head coach Colin Batch said, :The score line was 6-1, but I think we have to put that into context. Pakistan made it very difficult for us for a number of quarters, the second was tough and third we didnt create too much but we ended up getting the third goal and that opened up the game for us.”
