Karachi(Cliff News)GE Power’s Grid Solutions business (NYSE: GE) has
successfully delivered a turnkey solution to DG Khan Cement Company Limited (DGKCCL), for its new cement plant, one of the largest in the country to date.Located 30 kilometers northwest of Karachi, in Hub District Lasbella, Baluchistan, the new manufacturing facility is powered by GE’s advanced grid solutions including 132/6.3 kV gas
insulated switchgear (GIS), 40MVA power transformers and other related auxiliary equipment.The power solution also includes an extension at K-Electric’s Hub Chowki grid station with a 132 kV AIS bay connecting it to the DGKCCL grid station.GE also undertook the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of the 132/6.3 kV grid
station, which is in full operation helping DGKCCL to successfully produce 9,000 tons per day (TPD) on a single line, enabling it to achieve an annual production capacity of 2.8 million tons of cement.Dr. Arif Bashir, Director (Tech & Ops) at DG Khan Cement Company said: “To support the fast pace of infrastructure development in Pakistan, accentuated by the China Pakistan

PTCL “Fun and Sports Gala” concludes in Islamabad


Islamabad(Cliff News)PTCL organized a week-long Fun & Sports Gala for its employees and their families in Islamabad. The event comprised of various sports categories including Cricket, Badminton, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis & Squash. There were also some exciting recreational activities likejumping castles, slides, horse riding andface-painting for children.The North Zone won the grand finale of Cricket, which was held in F-9 Park, Islamabad. Cliff Pakistan Sports Club won Aftab Munshi Memorial Football Match


Karachi(Cliff News)A tingling sensational and exciting night  football match was played at Abdul Khaliq Afghani Stadium Karachi between Cliff Pakistan Sports Club and Companion Friends FC. Both teams showed their professional skill all spectators enjoyed the match from its start. First of all Companion Friend FC got lead in 16 min when Qambar scored 1st goal of the match later after 2 min Faizan of Cliff Pakistan Sports Club scored a goal on the pass of Osama Jameel and dismissed the lead of Companion Friend FC which remained till the end of 1st half of the match.2nd Half of the match started with continuous attack on both sides. At last Anus Shahid of Cliff Pakistan Sports Club scored the 2nd goal on penalty kick.In this way Cliff Pakistan Sports Club won Aftab Munshi Memorial Football Match by 2-1. Cheif Guest CEO ZM Traders Iftikhar Munir  awarded winning trophy to Captain of winning team Syed Qalbe Muhammad and runner ups skipper Syed Mohammad Salman.

Pakistan win fourth consecutive match in Veterans World Cup

Karachi(Cliff News)Pakistan Veterans won its fourth round Consecutive Match against Sri Lanka Veterans at the Joe McAleer Oval Ground in Sydney by 32 runs. Pakistan Skipper Ghulam Ali won the toss and elected to bat. Unlike the last three matches Pakistan Veterans Team could only score 178 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 45 overs. Pakistan medium pace bowler Amir Tousif batting at No. 10 was the highest scorer with 34 runs in which he hit 2 fours and one six. Sajid Ali scored 29 runs with 3 fours Mazhar Hussain 27 runs and Dastagir Butt with 23 runs were the other notable batsman to score runs.From the Sri Lankan Bowlers M. Labrooy was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets for only 26 runs in his 9 overs. S. Fernando, D. De Silva and R. Ismail took 2 wickets each for 17, 30, and 33 runs respectively.Batting second the Sri Lankan Veterans Team were all out in 42.1 overs for 146 runs. S. Fernando was the top scorer with 40 runs with 3 fours. S. Rahim scored 22 runs.For Pakistan Veterans off Spinner Imtiaz Ahmed bowled superbly by taking 3 wickets for 26 runs. Jaffer Qureshi, Shahid Anwar and Javed Hafeez took 2 wickets each for 28, 29 and 31 runs respectively.At the conclusion of the Match Mr. Lal Wickrematunge Consul General of Sri Lanka gave the Man of the Match award to Amir Tousif. Mr. Abdul Majid Yousfani Consul General of Pakistan was also present in the Ceremony.In the points table Pakistan is at No. 2 position with Australia at the top England at No. 3 and New Zealand at No. 4. Top four teams out of 8 teams will qualify for Semi Finals. Now Pakistan needs to win atleast one more match out of its remaining 3 league matches to qualify for the Semi Finals.The final of the Tournament is on 5th December. Fahd Academy reach semi finals of PVCA EBM Inter School Tournament

Karachi(Cliff News)Fahd Academy reached the Semi Finals of PVCA/ EBM Inter School Cricket Tournament by beating FF Public School by 45 runs in the quarter final match played at the RLCA Gulberg Ground yesterday. English Biscuits Manufacturer Ltd. makers of Peak Freans Biscuits is sponsoring the tournament which is organized by Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association.Fahd Academy won the toss and decided to bat and were all out for 183 runs in 36.4 overs out of allotted 40 overs. Danish Afridi scored 46 runs in 35 balls with 2 sixes and 7 fours. Haider Alam scored 40 runs in 41 balls and Mohiuddin Afridi scored 37 runs in only 23 balls. For FF Public School Azghan Arshad and Naveed Ahmed took 3 wickets each for 25 and 27 runs respectively.Batting second FF Public School could only score 138 runs in 36.2 overs. Mir Hamza scored 48 runs in 56 balls with 7 fours. Naveed Ahmed scored 20 runs in 25 balls.Saif Ali and Mohd. Yaqoob took 2 wickets each for 27 and 32 runs respectively. Mohd. Engro Foods Ltd inks MOU with International Finance Corporation
