Facebook taking initiatives to prevent suicide incidents

images

Written by Antigone Davis, Global Head of Safety

As a global online community, keeping people safe on our apps is incredibly important to us. Since 2006, we’ve worked with experts from around the world to inform our policies, practices and products supporting those at risk of suicide or self-injury.

On World Suicide Prevention Day, we’re sharing an update on what we’ve learned and some of the steps we’ve taken in the past year, as well as additional actions we’re going to take, to keep people safe on our apps, especially those who are most vulnerable.

Improving How We Handle Suicide and Self-injury Related Content

Earlier this year, we began hosting regular consultations with experts from around the world to discuss some of the more difficult topics associated with suicide and self-injury. These include how we deal with suicide notes, the risks of sad content online and newsworthy depictions of suicide. Further details of these meetings are available on Facebook’s new Suicide Prevention page in our Safety Center.

As a result of these consultations, we’ve made several changes to improve how we handle this content. We tightened our policy around self-harm to no longer allow graphic cutting images to avoid unintentionally promoting or triggering self-harm, even when someone is seeking support or expressing themselves to aid their recovery. On Instagram, we’ve also made it harder to search for this type of content and kept it from being recommended in Explore. We’ve also taken steps to address the complex issue of eating disorder content on our apps by tightening our policy to prohibit additional content that may promote eating disorders. And with these stricter policies, we’ll continue to send resources to people who post content promoting eating disorders or self-harm, even if we take the content down. Lastly, we chose to display a sensitivity screen over healed self-harm cuts to help avoid unintentionally promoting self-harm.

Our engagement with experts has proven so valuable that we’re also hiring a health and well-being expert to join our safety policy team. This person will focus exclusively on the health and well-being impacts of our apps and policies, and will explore new ways to improve support for our community, including on topics related to suicide and self-injury.

And for the first time, we’re also exploring ways to share public data from our platform on how people talk about suicide, beginning with providing academic researchers with access to the social media monitoring tool, CrowdTangle. To date, CrowdTangle has been available primarily to help newsrooms and media publishers understand what is happening on Facebook. But we are eager to make it available to two select researchers who focus on suicide prevention to explore how information shared on Facebook and Instagram can be used to further advancements in suicide prevention and support.

In addition to all we are doing to find more opportunities and places to surface resources, we’re continuing to build new technology to help us find and take action on potentially harmful content, including removing it or adding sensitivity screens. From April to June of 2019, we took action on more than 1.5 million pieces of suicide and self-injury content on Facebook and found more than 95% of it before it was reported by a user. During that same time period, we took action on more than 800 thousand pieces of this content on Instagram and found more than 77% of it before it was reported by a user.

Becoming a Safer Forum for Difficult Conversations

Experts have told us that one of the most effective ways to prevent suicide is for people to hear from friends and family who care about them. Facebook has a unique role in facilitating those kinds of connections and we’re taking additional steps to support those who are discussing these sensitive topics, especially young people. To help young people safely discuss topics like suicide, we’re enhancing our online resources by including Orygen’s #chatsafe guidelines in Facebook’s Safety Center and in resources on Instagram when someone searches for suicide or self-injury content.

The #chatsafe guidelines were developed together with young people to provide support to those who might be responding to suicide-related content posted by others or for those who might want to share their own feelings and experiences with suicidal thoughts, feelings or behaviors.

We’ll continue to invest in people, technology and resources so that we can do more to protect people on our apps. Visit our Suicide Prevention Resource page to learn more about what’s available.

U.S President Trump is treating Huawei Unfairly: Microsoft

Karachi(Cliff News)The way the U.S. government is treating Huawei is un-American. China’s leading maker of networking equipment and mobile phones should be allowed to buy U.S. technology, including software from his company”. These thoughts were express by Microsoft President and Chief Legal Officer, Brad Smith.Such actions shouldn’t be taken without a “sound basis in fact, logic, and the rule of law,” says Smith, adding that Microsoft has asked U.S. regulators to explain themselves. “Oftentimes, what we get in response is, ‘Well, if you knew what we knew, you would agree with us,’” he says. “And our answer is, ‘Great, show us what you know so we can decide for ourselves. That’s the way this country works.’” U.S. President Donald Trump has said Huawei, run by a former Chinese army technologist, is a national security threat, and his Department of Commerce has added the company to an export blacklist scheduled to take full effect in November.Trump should know better, Smith says, citing Trump’s experience in the hotel industry. “To tell a tech company that it can sell products, but not buy an operating system or chips, is like telling a hotel company that it can open its doors, but not put beds in its hotel rooms or food in its restaurant. Either way, you put the survival of that company at risk.”Huawei is a key customer for Microsoft’s Windows operating system, which comes loaded on its branded consumer laptops. Four years ago, Smith and Microsoft Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping at Microsoft for a photo op with tech leaders including Apple CEO Tim Cook and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg. That probably won’t happen again.Tensions between the U.S. and China feature prominently in Smith’s new book, Tools and Weapons: The Promise and the Peril of the Digital Age. While Huawei is its own case, Smith worries that broader and tighter strictures could soon follow. The Commerce Department is considering new restrictions on the export of emerging technologies on which Microsoft has placed big bets, including artificial intelligence and quantum computing. “You can’t be a global technology leader if you can’t bring your technology to the globe,” he says.
Microsoft has asked the Commerce Department to consider outlawing sales to particular customers or for particular uses that might pose national security risks, such as universities with ties to the Chinese military. Smith uses the analogy of the scalpel vs. the meat cleaver. The company also wants to make sure academic research can continue to cross borders, including from Microsoft Research Asia in Beijing.
A coalition of democracies should agree on standards for privacy and data collection and press China for better behavior, Smith says. Such privacy norms, he says, should govern “appropriate” data sharing that can help contribute to AI development and keep pace with Chinese efforts. That’s an idea that will likely alarm some privacy advocates.Smith, who raised money for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign in 2016, says the bigger concern should be America’s leadership on the world stage, citing issues including gun violence and climate change. “The only way you can manage technology that’s global is to have governments actually work with each other,” he says.

Pakistan aviation industry has huge potential:Tuncay Eminoglu

IMG-20190701-WA0126
Istanbul(Zahid Hussain Karani)Tuncay Eminoglu Vice President Sales (Asia and Far East) has said he takes competition as a challenge and not a threat. He said he has already visited the new airport of Islamabad and found it in commensurate with the present day aviation needs. He further said Pakistan aviation industry is vibrant and has huge potential adding Pakistani visitors especially traveling to Saudi Arabia and transiting thru Istanbul are provided with best facilities with a view to making their transit comfortable

Tuncay Eminoglu expressed these views while talking to a delegation of media from Pakistan who met him in his office in Istanbul and during an interview with Diplomatic News Agency (DNA) and CENTRELINE journal. He said passengers traveling to USA can stay one night at Istanbul free of charge. Likewise passengers having 12 hours transit time are also provided with free of charge accommodation. To question about introducing new aircraft on Islamabad-Istanbul route, the vice president said the decision to replace aircraft, by and large depends, on the business activity on the particular route and aircraft availability as well.Tuncay Eminoglu while giving a brief history of the carrier, said when Turkish Airlines started its journey back in 1933 it had only five aircraft flying to four destinations in one country. Eighty-six years down the line, the airline has now more international destinations than any other in the world, covering 314 destinations, 311 cities in 124 countries.“In 2023, the year that marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic, our target is to reach 120 million passengers, earn $30 billion in revenue and add more than 500 fleets.” In the past 10 years or so, Turkish Airlines has increased its service quality, he said. Some 10 million passengers were carried in 2003, and this figure rose to 48 million in 2013.Turkish Airlines, which recently moved its airport from Ataturk to Istanbul, will begin flying cargo planes to Addis Ababa. Turkish Ailines flies to 56 African destinations which is the second highest next to Ethiopian and their desire to increase their market in Africa even further. He said Africa remains the priority for Turkish Airlines, as the air carrier expands to all four corners of the world. They said that aviation would continue growing in the future and Turkish would grow more than the global trend. As of April 6 the airlines began using the newly built ultra modern Istanbul Airport replacing their older hub at Ataturk Airport. Once completed in 2027, the Istanbul airport is expected to be the busiest airport in the world with six runways and four terminals that can accommodate 200 million passengers a year.Tuncay Eminoglu further said they have gone from 162 planes and 3 million passengers in 2003 to 515 aircraft and 30 million passengers in 2019. In the decade between 2008 and 2019 they experienced a passenger growth rate of 12.8 percent, three times the world’s average.By 2023 Turkish hopes to serve 140 million passengers. Currently, according to 2017 International Air Transport Association (IATA) statistics the Airline serves the 17th highest number of flyers in the world but according to Eminoglu, by 2032 they expect to be in the top ten. The IATA forecasted in 2018, that China, the US, India and Indonesia would be the fastest growing countries in terms of passengers.Turkey is rapidly transporting more passengers and cargo so the new airport will be able to serve the highest number of passengers in the world, park 500 planes, feature 500 check-in points and accommodate 143 boarding bridges. The 700,000sqm airport will also have the largest maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) in the world. At the new airport the aviation firm manages three run ways and they expect to serve 90 million passengers this year and carry 2.5 million tons of cargo. The project has three phases and each phase will increase cargo capacity by 5.5 million tons. By the end of the project the number of passengers would double to 200 million. He said by 2025, the aviation sector will contribute 4.9 percent to the GDP and 225,000 jobs. When the airport is finished it will have six runways and four terminals.

Occupation and Merger of Kashmir into Indian Union and Ideology of Hindutva

images.jpeg

Vice Admiral Waseem Akram (Retd)

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and Ideology of Hindutva

In 1925, an Indian doctor named K B Hedgewar formed the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) to promote a more centralized and assertive interpretation of Hinduism. Hedgewar envisioned India as a distinctly Hindu nation in which the populace was united around a common and defensible interpretation of Hinduism or Hindutva. As an ideology it is based on principle of establishing the hegemony of Hindus and the Hindu way of life in the Subcontinent. One thread of this Ideology is to restore the division of Indian sub-continent by making it one entity. RSS believes that the 1947 partition of India and creation of Pakistan and later Bangladesh are in fact a sacrifice of holy land of Akkhand Bharat and this historic mistake needs to be corrected. One RSS member, Nathuram Godse, was so incensed by the Ghandi agreeing to the partition of India and his thoughts of a religiously tolerant society, that Godse assassinated Gandhi, on 30 Jan 48.The Bharatiya Jantha Party’s (BJP) origins lie in the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, popularly known as the Jana Sangh, founded by Syama Prasad Mukherjee in 1951 in response to the politics of the dominant secular Indian Congress Party. It was founded in collaboration with the Hindu nationalist organization RSS, and is in fact political arm of the organization. Presently RSS is part of the Sangh Parivar, a conglomerate of Hindu nationalist organizations spanning religion, politics and defense of the faith. RSS firmly now believes that India is a native Hindu state that has been invaded and contaminated by foreign religions. According to their views, Muslims which constitute the 14.2 percent of the population cannot be accepted as sons of the soil. RSS also now publically demands that Hinduism should supplant secularism as the guiding principle of Indian society. The ultimate aim of this philosophy is political and cultural subjugation of the country’s Sikh, Christian and Muslim populations.Prime Minister Modi embodies the past, present and future of the Hindu nationalist movement. Modi born on 17 Jun 50, joined the RSS youth wing when he was only 8 years old, and became a full-time volunteer at the age of 17. In 1985, he joined BJP. In 2002 he became the Chief Minister of Gujarat and subsequently in 2014; he became Prime Minister of India. His exponential rise to power is based on strong anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistani ideology. To attract majority Hindu vote he has openly professed demolition of Babri mosque, ban on cow slaughter, revoking the special status of Indian Occupied Kashmir and teaching a lesson militarily to Pakistan and even fragmenting it further on numerous occasions.BJP as extreme right Hindu party in order to increase its vote bank among Hindus has always whipped anti Muslim sentiments. For example, in 1992, it organized a Hindu mob to demolish 16th century Babri mosque. The contention was that the mosque was built upon the birth place of the Hindu God Rama. Ensuing Hindu-Muslim communal riots spread to cities like Mumbai, Surat, Ahmedabad, Kanpur, Delhi, Bhopal and several others, eventually resulting in over 2000 deaths, mainly Muslim.Shortly after India defeat in war with China in 1962, the Indian government embarked on a nuclear mission, conducting its first test in 1974. Pakistan due to its genuine security concerns after 1971 war with India which resulted in secession of East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) launched its own nuclear program. Riding on nationalist sentiments with ambition to become Super power of the world, BJP led government in India conducted overt atomic tests in 1998. To restore strategic balance and amid threatening and insulting rhetoric by BJP leadership, Pakistan also conducted six nuclear test in May 1998. It is widely believed by majority of strategist that BJP miscalculation of conducting overt nuclear tests provided window of opportunity to Pakistan to go nuclear without facing international wrath being a Muslim state. In 2002, about 58 Hindu pilgrims died in burning train near the Godhra railway station in the Indian state of Gujarat. Another communal riot broke out in Gujarat. In one of the bloodiest massacres in the history of modern India, mobs armed with addresses of businesses and residences owned by Gujarat’s Muslim minority systematically eliminated Muslims. Human Rights Watch reported that nearly 2,000 Muslims were massacred by Hindu mobs and over 150,000 displaced. Modi ordered Gujarati police not to halt the bloodshed or aid the victims. The worst-affected area was Ahmedabad, the state’s largest city. Violence continued unabated for three days from 27 Feb to 01 March and more sporadically throughout Gujarat for months. The US State Department later concluded that Modi was complicit in the riots, that he ordered Gujarati police not to stop the violence or aid the victims, and that his police forces were directly involved in the bloodshed. Modi was never charged, however, but was instead reelected to a third term with a landslide vote. His use of state terrorism to inspire his core voting bloc continues unabated till to date. On 17 May 2004, Lalu Prasad Yadav was appointed railway minister. In September 2004, two and half years after the train burning, Yadav appointed former Supreme Court Justice Umesh Chandra Banerjee to investigate the incident. In January 2005 Banerjee presented his interim report, which tentatively ascribed the fire as an “accidental fire,” after ruling out other theories. He cited a forensic report stating that the injuries on the victims were only compatible with an “internal fire.” However, despite Modi being declared as butcher of Gujarat as Muslim genocide was conducted under his watch and refused entry visa by the US for sponsoring and abetting state sponsored terrorism as Chief Minister. He became hero of the Indian extreme right and has been reelected as Prime Minister of India in 2019 for the second time.

Prime Minister Modi decision of revoking the special status Kashmir is totally in line with RSS ideology of creating homogenous Hindu nation. It is message to all the minorities in India that they have the choice to become Hindus and join the mainstream. Otherwise they will be eliminated by force and their freedom, property and even right to breath and live would be taken away from them. This is also a strong message to other regions vying for more autonomy or freedom from Indian Union is that BJP led government would crush any idea or ambitions for more liberty with iron hand.

Kashmir Issue

The most problematic region between India and Pakistan is Kashmir, a region located high in the Himalayas. At Independence, Jammu and Kashmir, comprised of an 80 percent Muslim majority, still had not chosen whether to join India or Pakistan. As per the principle of partition being the Muslim majority area the state of Kashmir should have form the part of Pakistan. At the time of Independence, Hari Singh was the ruler of Kashmir when he delayed the announcement of accession of Kashmir to Pakistan, his Muslim subjects rebelled against him. In Jammu Kashmiri Muslims were killed by Sikhs and Hindus who were in majority there. The editor of The Statesman, Ian Stephens claimed that 500,000 Muslims, “the entire Muslim element of the population”, was eliminated and 200,000 “just disappeared”. It means that at least 200,000 were killed and rest fled to West Pakistan. In these circumstances Pathan tribesmen from Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan waged Jihad to save their Muslim brethren and entered the state on 22nd October 1947. Seeing the, freedom fighters, Hari Singh panicked and requested India for help. Indian Prime Minister Nehru sent in 100,000 troops to crush what he claimed was an invasion of Indian territory. The Indian troops, which were air lifted in the early hours of 27 October, secured the Srinagar airport.  India and Pakistan went to war. A UN commission called for the withdrawal of both countries’ troops in August 1948. The United Nations brokered a cease-fire in 1949, and a five-member commission made up of Argentina, Belgium, Columbia, Czechoslovakia and the United States drew up a Resolution calling for a referendum to decide Kashmir’s future through plebiscite. The United Nations also determined a Line of Control (LOC), by which Azad Kashmir was given to Pakistan and the territories of Baltistan and Ladakh were divided.

Indian Efforts to Absorb Indian Held Kashmir into Indian Union

After 1954, India accelerated the process of integrating Kashmir into its political system in an effort to make it impractical and politically unrealistic to hold a plebiscite. Pakistan began to see China as potential ally against India after Tibet uprising. Pakistan entered into negotiations with China for border agreement in 1961 and finally signed it in 1963. Meanwhile India was provided with unprecedented military hardware and training support by the US and UK on pretext of containing Chinese threat after India’s humiliating defeat in 1962 conflict with China.

Despite being the front line state against the spread of communism in the region, Pakistan was betrayed by the US and British leadership in 1962.  President Kennedy and then British Prime Minister Harold Macmillan, specifically asked Pakistan not to undertake any military action against Indian Held Kashmir during Sino-India war of Oct 62.  Both the leaders made Islamabad to believe that they would use their clout to resolve Kashmir issue once Sino-India conflict was over. Despite Pakistan compliance not only the Kashmir issue was put on back burner once the crisis was over but India started to receive more importance and all types of aid from the West.

Six rounds of talks were held between Indian Foreign Minister Sardar Sarwan Sighn and his Pakistani counterpart Zulifqar Ali Bhutto from December 1962 to 1963 for resolution of Kashmir issue. But nothing came out of it. Mr Bhutto even proposed the internationalization of the Valley as an interim arrangement for six months and then the Kashmiris should be given the chance to decide their future. But this was rejected by India. President Ayub also adopted “a very flexible attitude and stressed that he was prepared to consider a solution other than plebiscite”.

In December 1963, a strand of hair from the beard of the Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him), the most sacred Muslim relic in Kashmir, was stolen from the mosque at Hazratbul. The Kashmir Valley went into a brief chaotic spell which included riots and protests. The relic was quickly discovered by the Indian Intelligence Bureau and returned. The issue was defused almost completely in February 1964 when a panel of holy men confirmed the authenticity of the restored relic. In Nov 64,  Articles 356 and 357 of the Indian Constitution were extended to the Kashmir State, by virtue of which the Central Government can assume the government of the State and exercise its legislative powers. The State Assembly then amended the State Constitution, changing the posts of “Sadr-i-Riyasat” and “Prime Minister” to Governor and Chief Minister, consistent with the Indian Constitution. This meant somewhat dilution of Article 370 of Indian constitution which guaranteed complete constitutional autonomy to Indian Held Kashmir. In 1972 after the war, Pakistan and India signed Shimla agreement in 1972. According the agreement both countries will “settle their differences by peaceful means through bilateral negotiations”. India has, many a times, maintained that Kashmir dispute is a bilateral issue and must be settled through bilateral negotiations as per Shimla Agreement, of 1972 and thus, had denied any third party intervention even that of United Nations. Before proceeding further let us analyze that why India always wanted Kashmir to be integral part of Indian Union.

Strategic importance of Kashmir for Indian Union

From the Indian point of view, the borderland between Pakistan and China that is, Kashmir is strategically critical matter of fundamental national interest for multiple reasons but most important are: Occupation of Kashmir is rooted in national strategy of the Indian Union. According to Indian thinking the agreement to the partitioning of the sub-continent was an unfortunate departure from this ideal, and to allow a further secessionism from the union on the basis of religion specially Islam would imperil the national integrity. Secondly, the more of Kashmir that India held, the less viable was the Sino-Pakistani relationship. Indian control of major part of the region gave it control over the axis of a possible Pakistani threat and placed limits on Chinese assistance. Thirdly, India needs Jammu-Srinagar-Leh road, running through the heart of the vale of Kashmir, for supply of troops standing guard in the Ladakh area of Kashmir, an important area for India’s defence against the Chinese in Tibet and Sinkiang. Moreover, the headwaters of many of the rivers vital to Pakistan’s agriculture are in Kashmir. Lastly the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) once completed would decrease China’s reliance on the vulnerable Strait of Malacca by creating an overland trade route connecting the Arabian Sea to western China’s Xinjiang province for trade and energy. This would not connect energy rich Central Asia and Gulf region with China/ South Asia but ultimately it would also make Pakistan pivot of Asia.  One of the terminus port of CPEC; that is Pakistani port of Gwadar is located near the mouth of strait of Hormuz a strategic water way from where 40 percent of world flows. At present the US Navy dominates all the Sea Lanes of Communication (SLOC) of the world. The United States as well as India consider it a potentially grave threat to their free access to energy resources of Gulf, if China is given naval base at Gwadar. More importantly since as one of CPEC highways crosses through Gilgit-Baltistan, a Pakistani territory that India claims as part of Kashmir. So China’s backing for CPEC is viewed as tantamount to a recognition of Pakistani sovereignty over Gilgit-Baltistan. From the above discussions, it is evident that despite the acknowledgment by New Delhi that India Occupied Kashmir (IOK) is disputed area. However, due to number of strategic dictates, India not only wants to retain the occupied area of Kashmir but also harbors designs for further expansion into Pakistani and Chinese territories.

Clash of Civilizations

Being one of the world’s ancient civilizations with second most populated country of the world, India under Modi is aspiring to become Super power of the world and policeman of the region. Indian policy makers consider Pakistan to be the major road block in these efforts. Meanwhile, with the demise of Soviet Union, the common perception among the Christian Zionist living in West, Jews Zionist in Israel and Hindu Zionist in India is that political Islam as an ideology is the gravest threat to the new world order. To mitigate this threat, the relations between Narendra Modi-led nationalist government in India and Benjamin Netanyahu-led Zionist regime in Israel have grown rapidly in recent years. Apart from exponential rise in trade and defense relations. Rightwing Zionism under Netanyahu and rightwing nationalism (Hindu Zionism) under Modi with common hatred for Muslims have become the foundation stone of the ideological relationship between the two states. After this strong bonding, Modi using the template of its Zionist ally has embarked upon mission of genocide, changing demography of areas and occupying Muslim lands by force. On 07 Aug 19, Modi government revoked Article 370 of Indian constitution which granted special autonomous status to the occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir. BJP government also retracted Article 35A, which restricted non-Kashmiris from buying land in the state, potentially opening the way for non-Kashmiris and Hindus to migrate to the state and alter its Muslim-majority demographics.

There are currently more than 600,000 Indian soldiers in IOK and the very fact they exercise expanded legal authority under the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, 1990 is cause of great human rights concern. By pumping more troops and clamping indefinite curfew in IOK has resulted in aggravating of human rights abuses. This tyranny and oppression of Modi fascist regime has denuded the actual face of Modi’s government. This illegal act of Modi government has, however, alienated all the Kashmiris of the IOK across the board to the point of no return.

The political strategy of Modi government at present is to encourage Hindu migration to the region en masse by buying Kashmiri lands and getting married with Kashmiri girls. By doing so India wants to reduce the Muslim majority into minority as Israel has done in case of Palestine and New Delhi has done in Nicobar and Andaman Islands. As far as India military strategy is concerned, New Delhi wants to keep IOK under siege by heavy military presence till the will of Kashmiri people to resist illegal occupation is fragmented. As far as Pakistan is concerned India is likely to keep the LOC active by targeting civil population and Pakistani military posts by artillery and other means. If things are still not manageable India would resort to surgical/ air strikes in Azad Kashmir to heighten the costs for Islamabad with the aim of deterring future cross-border attacks. If these measures are still unable to control indigenous freedom struggle, New Delhi could resort to creating a casus belli similar to false flag operations like Pulwama attack. That, naturally, would bring the subcontinent’s nuclear-armed neighbors closer to the edge of a conflict that would reverberate far beyond disputed Kashmir and even lead to much bigger catastrophe. The nuclear war between two countries has global implications which is not understood by many in the World.

As far as the United States is concerned, it wants to get out of Afghanistan, and needs Pakistan to convince Taliban to have peace deal which could provide face saving and honorable exit to Washington. Therefore, the present thaw in the US and Pakistan relations are tactical in nature and are short term. Due myriad of reasons the US has established strategic alliance with India in all fields. Thus Nuclear Armed Muslim Pakistan which is also the most important partner of China’s One Belt One Road initiative is viewed with skepticism by the US, India and Israel.  With strategic aims of depriving Pakistan of its nuclear arms and rolling back of CPEC project since 2001, these countries sometimes in concert and at times individually have tried to destabilize Pakistan. It is no coincidence that Pakistan is in eye of storm since 2001. Invasion of Afghanistan and installation of Northern Alliance dominated government there, Attack on Indian Parliament, giving flip to insurgencies in Baluchistan/ FATA, creation of Tehrik Taliban Pakistan(TTP), Samjautha Express, Mumbai, Pathan Kot, Uri, Pulwama, GHQ Rawalpindi, PNS Mehran Karachi attacks; all had almost identical strategic aims. These were to create two front dilemma for Pakistan Armed forces, create internal fissures, cause economic meltdown, demoralize para military forces to an extent so that there is complete paralysis and chaos in Pakistan. Against all odds Pakistan has emerged as more resilient country by sacrificing almost 100,000 persons and at a loss of US $ 120 billion over the years. The timing of revoking of Article 370 by India at a time when Afghanistan is stabilizing, is another attempt to embroil Pakistan in one more protracted conflict. New Delhi believes that by doing so it could squeeze Islamabad politically, diplomatically, economically and militarily further. However, like always amid Indian aggression Pakistani Nation and Armed forces are galvanized and ready to meet all the emerging challenges. It is believed that Indian miscalculation this time Insa Allah will end up in freedom of IOK.
