Whether it’s military court case or panama case, Asia Malona case or former Prime Minister Gillani case we resorted to the literary figure’s famous sayings, deciding all the cases” these thoughts were expressed by the former chief justice of Pakistan Asif Saeed Khousa in the opening ceremony of  three day literature festival held at Arts council Karachi. Former chief justice Asif Saeed Khousa further said “many judges including me are interested in art & literature and I am planning to return back to this way. Law and literature are similar in many ways”. On the moment addressing to the audience president arts council Muhammad Ahmed Shah said we support to those organizations that are serving to Urdu literature. The prominent literary personalities such as Muhtaq Ahmed Yosufi and Jameel uddin Aali are no more with us but their name will always live in the history of Urdu literature”. Further he said that last year Ameena Saiyid started organizing the Adab festival which is now running successfully. On the occasion of the inauguration ceremony of 2nd Adab festival former Pakistan’s Representative to the United Nation Maleeha Lodhi , in her speech said “Together with the intellectuals we need to create the positive image of Pakistan globally. We have to make our foreign policy according to the global approach of each country”. In the opening ceremony, Founder of Adab Festival Ameena Saiyid said “The literature festival was founded a decade ago which has now become a thriving tree. I am glad that this literature festival is covering a wide variety of topics” Along with the literary & political personalities like Asif Farukhi, Shaiyma Syed, Iftikhar Arif, Kishwar Naheed, Stefan Winkler ,former foreign minister Hina Rabbani Khar, I.G Sindh Kaleem Imam,  this event was attended by a massive number of literature lovers. On the occasion a puppet show was presented by THE THESPIANZ THEATRE and poetry of Habib Jalib was beautifully presented by the young musicians & singers. The day was concluded with the Qawali performance of famous qawal Abu Mohammad and Fareed Ayaz.

A project of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor it will produce 9 billion kWh of electricity the national grid every year meeting electricity needs of approximately 4 million households in the country.

Karachi(Cliff News)Huawei founder and CEO Ren Zhengfei believes his company has withstood the challenges posed by a US entity list ban last year, emerging as a stronger organization and one committed to international cooperation. The CEO’s comments were made around a panel session held at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, which began on January 21 under the theme “Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World”.Zhengfei said his company has “basically stood the challenges” posed by the current US administration, including being placed on an export black list and targeted on various fronts in recent months. “This year the US might further escalate their campaign against Huawei, but I feel the impact against Huawei would not be very significant,” he said. “I am confident we can survive future attacks.” Zhengfei added that Huawei has spent billions to prepare a “plan B,” which has allowed the company to survive the US entity ban. “This year in 2020, since we already gained experience from last year and we got a stronger team, I think we are more confident that we can survive even further attacks,” he added. The executive’s comments come at a time when Huawei leadership estimates that its global sales revenue will have topped USD122 billion in 2019, an increase of roughly 18% year-on-year.Speaking at Davos, the CEO also made note of his respect for American companies and championed international cooperation. “Huawei used to be an admirer of the US, we learned a lot from them. We hired dozens of American consulting firms to learn how to manage our business. The US should feel proud of [Huawei], they have the US management system exported and implemented. They should not be overly concerned about Huawei and our position in the world.”
Huawei was recently ranked fifth on the 2019 EU Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard as one of the biggest investors in research and development worldwide.As a result of its R&D investment focus, Huawei has been able to leadthe development of 5G technologies globally, and more than 700 cities and 228 Fortune Global 500 companies have chosen Huawei as their digital transformation partner.

Mobile library moves to Makli area from Marriott Road

Makli(Cliff News)The launch of a mobile library took place here today in Makliat Goth Sarki, courtesy Rotary Club Karachi New Central with the collaboration of Heritage Foundation, Pakistan. The multi-pronged launch ceremony also featured the distribution of Eid gifts by RCK New Central to 200 children from the villages, and an enlightening visit by Rotarians and other guests to the zero carbon footprint initiatives launched by Heritage Foundation in the area.The day started early with all registered delegates gathering at Heritage Foundation and leaving together in a coaster for Sarki Goth. Refreshments made by the Makli commune, that was once a beggar community, prior to being taught income-generating skills by Heritage Foundation were served on arrival at the colourfully decorated ZC3 venue.Host of the day, Amna Qureshi of StarLinks PR and Events welcomed the guests and invited Rotarian Anadil Khan to the stage to recite a verse from the Holy Quran. National anthem followed in which everyone participated with enthusiasm. Next Charter President RCK New Central and director Heritage Foundation Shanaz Ramzi was invited to welcome all the guests to the event and give a brief background of her club’s activities and projects. She mentioned, “I am sure our club has made history as since its inception on April 12th we have done one project every week, beginning with the cleaning of heritage sits on Marriott Road and street festivals held there every Sunday for one month, mobile library set up at Marriott Road, to distribution of rations in Ramazan and culminating in the Eid gifts distribution and mobile library launch at Makli. This was definitely a unique experience for the children of the areaaws well as for the visitors, who were also given a tour of the eco-friendly chulas and housing units and washrooms created by Heritage Foundation. Guests could be seen mingling with the villagers and purchasing the unique artifacts and jewellery created by the women of the area.
