Fakhr-e-Alam celebrates the one year anniversary of “Mission Parwaaz”

Karachi(Cliff News)Today marks the first anniversary of our National Hero Fakhr-e-Alam successfully making history by circumnavigating the globe in 23 days with Mission Parwaaz. In commemoration of the historic journey, Fakhr-e-Alam announces the launch of his documentary ‘Mission Parwaaz’.The journey of Mission Parwaaz was not only a groundbreaking National achievement for Pakistan but also marked Pakistan’s first successful circumnavigation of the globe in any mode of transportation. Fakhr-e-Alam’s documentary ‘Mission Parwaaz’ encapsulates the iconic 23 day journey including the many hurdles he overcame.The epic 23 day journey started on October 10th, 2018 from St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport, Tampa Florida, USA, flying the ‘Pilatus PC 12NG’ single-engine turboprop aircraft, covering 22 countries in 23 days. Alam made his first stopover in Boston, flew to Canadian Airbase in Goosebay, Canada, making further brief pit stops in Greenland, Iceland, United Kingdom, Egypt, Bahrain, Dubai, Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Dhaka, Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta, Australia, Philippines, Taiwan, South Japan, North Japan, the Pacific Bay, Russia, Alaska, British Colombia, Colorado, Houston, and lastly safely flying back to Clearwater Airpark, Tampa Florida on November 3rd, 2018.Upon completing the historic journey, the last video message recorded by Alam said, “Pakistan, news from Florida, Mission Parwaaz, Mission accomplished. Thousands of nautical miles, hundreds of hours, 22 countries, 23 days and one big dream for one big nation. Pakistan congratulations, we are now in the history books of aviation.”Commenting on the 1 year anniversary of Mission Parwaaz, Fakhr-e-Alam says, “I have always been proud to be a Pakistani. I undertake things to make my country proud. Mission Parwaaz, a global circumnavigation was a once in a life time adventure very few people get to do. I hope to see more Pakistanis to under take such an endeavour. I can’t wait for a Pakistani woman pilot to circumnavigate the planet. Pakistanis have the talent, ability and the heart to do extra ordinary things. My next focus is space travel. I hope I can carry the Pakistani flag into space. Need all your prayers.”The documentary ‘Mission Parwaaz’ will be aired on Pakistan’s state owned broadcaster – Pakistan Television (PTV) as recognition and celebration of this extraordinary historical achievement by a Pakistani. Fakhr-e-Alam is also currently working on a book, details of which will be released at a later date.

 

Faran Tahir joins Shaz Khan directing debut in “The Martial Artist”

London(Cliff News)Acclaimed Pakistani Actor Shaz Khan joins hands with renowned Hollywood actor-producer Faran Tahir, for his directorial debut film ‘The Martial Artist’. Both were present in London at a press conference during a trip to London to watch an exclusive Brave MMA event. Khan shared his story of how he had always envisioned making films that tell universal stories for the global audience that have Pakistanis/Desis as the main characters. “The Martial Artist is a sports action drama dealing with the main character’s rise in the MMA world in California and after suffering a horrific loss his journey back to his homeland where he connects with his roots and has a spiritual awakening that leads to his comeback,” adds Khan when asked about the storyline. Earlier this year intense footage of Shaz Khan’s training for the project was released on social media which saw the actor-director learning jiu jitsu, boxing, Muay Thai and wrestling to prepare for the movie. Faran Tahir saw the potential of the project showing not only an immigrant story but an authentic lens Into the mixed martial arts world. Being a Hollywood staple he came on as a producer and is also playing one of the main characters in the story. It’s simple from my end if you want to see brown faces on the global screen, we have to create those stories ourselves” commented Tahir at the press conference. “ The cross cultural film is based on the story of two Pakistani-American MMA fighters rising up the ranks in California and eventual journey back to the motherland. Shot between the U.S. and Pakistan, ‘The Martial Artist’ will be the first global sports action drama that has Pakistani actors as leads with a universal story exploring relevant themes. In the film Khan will be playing the lead role and also producing alongside his co-producers Faisal Rehman & Faraz Khan of Impact Films, Joseph Faulk and Brian Aspinwall – Shaz Khan’s long time creative collaborators. Khan is represented by his lawyer Elsa Ramo in Beverly Hills. Details of when the movie be released will be disclosed at a later date.

BFFs launch their first web series on 19th July 2019

Karachi (Cliff News) Imagine Nation pictures (IN) is a new venture by 4 upcoming filmmakers namely Sami Rehman (of Bekaar Films fame), Rida Zahra, Ghania Asad and Sidrah Jamil. IN was formed in the hopes of further exploring the web series market in Pakistan and later dabbling into films and other media. IN’s goal is to present a range of different genres and exciting content that would inspire the Pakistani youth.“BFFs” (meaning Best Friends Forever) is their first web series and will be premiering on the 19th of July 2019 on Youtube. KFC Pakistan has teamed up with IN and is onboard as the official food partner for the web series. BFFs comprises of a total of 6 Episodes. They will release each Episode every Friday respectively.BFFs is a light-hearted, youth centric and a fourth-wall-breaking, experimental comedy. Something to be enjoyed by friends and family alike. The series focuses on two crazy best friends (Rida & Sami), who chose friendship over love – when given an ultimatum. In order to save their 20 year friendship, the two decided to get married and stay ‘best friends forever’, without even having an ounce of romance between them. Life after marriage was of course, not as easy as the both of them had imagined. The series contains some special appearances by a few well known youtubers (namely Bekaar Films).The teaser was released on the 2nd of July and has received a lot of love from the people – it has reached more than 115,000 views on Facebook alone.IN launched the official trailer with KFC on the 10th of July 2019 at KFC ittehad outlet.  KFC Pakistan exclusively hosted the official trailer launch event.

SHERDIL to be released internationally on April 12th by Zashko Films

Karachi(Cliff News)The patriotic film, SHERDIL, which was released all over Pakistan on Resolution Day, created a lot of buzz and was highly appreciated by the masses. Post Indo-Pak tension, the storyline of the movie was quite relatable with the current situation of the country.The film highlights a life of a pilot played by Mikaal Zulfiqar, and how he learns the significance of duty, honour and love for one’s country.
The latest development is that the film is all set to be released on April 12th, written and produced by Col Nomaan Khan, and directed by Azfar Jafri (of ‘Parchi’ and ‘Janaan’ fame), ‘Sher Dil’ is set in the backdrop of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF). The film will be released in the UK, US, Canada, UAE, and Scandinavian countries by Zashko films as the official distributor, which is an international film distribution company owned by Actor Producer Shayan Khan (Na Band Na Baraati), while Exxodous Pictures as executive producers for UK, USA, and Canada and is expected to bring more business to the Pakistani cinema worldwide, after doing a business of 80 million on box offices locally.
Model turned actor, Mikaal Zulifqar is on cloud nine enjoying all the praising and appreciation by the public and critics. The lead actor of the film, took to his Instagram and thanked everyone who has watched the film and are planning to watch. “Thank you Pakistan for your amazing response. Sherdil becomes the highest opening and highest opening weekend film of 2019. These figures are more than amazing for a Pakistan only release and it is definitely among top 5 [Pakistani] films of all times,” he wrote.
The film also stars Armeena Rana Khan, Hassan Niazi and Sabeeka Imam in pivotal roles. After winning hearts of Pakistani audience, Sherdil is all set to conquer international market as well.
