Oslo(Cliff News)IPPA (International Pakistan Prestige Awards) one of the biggest star-studded Pakistani events taking place internationally for the third time was held here at Oslo, Norway, X-Meeting Point.The award ceremony was well-attended by stars, government officials, media representatives and socialites. The star-studded affair not only brought the giants of the Pakistani entertainment industry under one roof but also served as a great platform to present a soft image of our country.The evening began by welcoming special guests at the star-studded Red Carpet hosted by Zara Fatima and Saim Ali followed by dinner for them. The show opened with the national anthems of both countries – Pakistan and Norway – followed by an AV presentation of the past two IPPA’s. Azfar Rehman and Sarwat Gilani called upon the founders of IPPA Ali Malik and Mukhtar Ahmed to give a speech, during which Aamir J Shiekh, chairman 14th August committee, and partner Hammad were also invited to speak, as was the minister of education.Shehroze Sabzwari and Sadaf Kanwal then took the stage for a powerful dance performance. Yasir Hussain and Moomal Sheikh were the next hosts. The first award they announced was for Best TV Presenter of the Year Viewer’s Choice, which was presented by Mr Zaaem (CEO Opras) & Hania Aamir and went to Yasir Hussain. Next award was for Best Debut female presented by Aima Baig and Mr Arfan CEO Desi Kitchen, which went to Amar Khan and was received by Adnan Siddiqui. Best Debut male presented by Sonia Mishal and Mr Kaiser Ali, CEO Proof Security went to Shayan Khan, while Best Designer of the Year Viewer’s choice, presented by Amy Bernard went to Nomi Ansari. Best Emerging Talent of the Year Viewer’s Choice presented by Sarah Shah of Xpressions & Asad Siddiqui went to Bisha Abbas while Best Model of the Year Viewer’s Choice was presented by Ali Malik and Sonia Mishal and went to Sadaf Kanwal.Next up was a hilarious comedy segment by Yasir Hussain and Adnan Siddiqui that had the audience in stitches.Hira and Mani then came in to host the next set of awards. The first of these was for Ippa Style Icon of the Year Viewer’s Choice which were presented by Nomi Ansari and Maya Ali and went out to Ayesha Omer and Azfer Rehman. IPPA Singer of the Year Viewers’ Choice was presented by Ms. Afshan Oslo parliamentarian Rafiq and Ahmed Ali Butt and went out to Aima Baig. IPPA Star of the Year female and male were presented by Maya Ali and were won by Hania Aamir and Ahsan Khan respectively.Next came a scintillating performance by Zara Noor Abbas brought by Bio Amla, whose amazing moves set the stage on fire.Sarwat Gilani then came to honour Zeba Bakhtiar, the recipient of Lifetime Achievement Award, and introduce the video presentation on her achievements.

The award was presented by Mr Sabir Godil (GM Marketing Bisconni Chocolatto) and Adnan Siddiqui.The next pair of hosts of the evening were Soniya Mishal and Saim. They announced the award for Best Supporting Actor TV Serial Viewers’ Choice and Best Director TV Serial Viewers’ Choice both of which were presented by Humayun Saeed and went out to Hira Mani and Ahson Talish respectively.Next up was an entertaining performance by Aima Baig, during whose performance stars like Maya Ali also joined in to shake a leg.To host the next segment Shehroze and Sonia Mishal took the stage. Best TV Serial Jury and Viewers’ Choice were presented by Shehzad Sheikh and Kubra Khan and went to Samina Humayun for Dil Maum Ka Diya, received by Humayun received on her behalf, and Suno Chanda, respectively. Best Actor Female TV Serial Jury and Best Actor Male TV Serial Jury were presented by Ayesha Omer and went to Iqra Aziz and Farhan Saeed respectively. Best Actor Female TV serial Viewers’ Choice presented by Mr Muhamad Ali (Head of Media The Brand Partnership) and Hania Aamir was received by Neelum Muneer while Best Actor Male TV serial Viewers’ Choice presented by Mr Mazar Jafre (Snr Media Manager The Brand Partnership) and Hania Aamir went to Adnan Siddiqui.After a laughter-filled comedy session by Ahmed Ali Butt in which he interacted with all the stars seated in the front row, the next host to take the stage was Sarwat Gilani. Best Director Film Viewers’ Choice award was presented by Moomal Sheikh and Yasir Husain and went out to Nadeem Baig, while Best Supporting Actor Film Viewers’ Choice was presented by Sadaf Kanwal and Shehroze to Ahmed Ali Butt, Best Film Jury went to Parwaaz Hai Junoon presented by Zara Noor Abbas. Best Film Viewers’ Choice was presented by Ms Shehla Asghar (brand Manager Bisconni Chocolatto) and Ahmed Ali Butt and went to Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2, received by Humayun Saeed.Ayesha Omer and Azfer Rehman stole the show with their amazing and charismatic performance which was followed by the last hosts of the evening, Ahmed Ali Butt and Yasir Husain announcing the final set of awards. Best Actor Female Film Jury and Best Actor Male Film Jury were presented by Fahim Burney and Sarwat Gilani and went to Kubra Khan and Hamza Ali Abbasi respectively. Best Actor Female Film Viewers’ Choice and Best Actor Male Film Viewers’ choice awards were presented by Zeba Bakhtiar and Adnan Siddiqui and went to Maya Ali and Humayun Saeed respectively.All in all it was a successful event that concluded on a jubilant note with the audience glued to their seats right till the end, looking forward to more such international awards recognizing Pakistani talent.Like last year, the PR of IPPA Awards 2019 was handled by Starlinks PR & Events and the official media partner was HUM TV while Hello magazine was the magazine partner.IPPA is acclaimed to be the biggest independent international Pakistani Awards to be attended by top celebrities of Pakistan. Zarnish Khan walks for first time as showstopper


Karachi(Cliff News)Pakistan’s most sought-after actress Zarnish Khan walks as showstopper for Munib Nawaz at Bridal Couture Week. This marks Khan’s first ever fashion week ramp walk.The versatile actress is currently working on four popular dramas Ishq Zahenaseeb, Jo Tu Chahey, Mohabbat Na Kariyo and Ye Dil Mera. For the bridal week, Khan walked on the third day, alongside her co-star Junaid Khan (from her mega drama serial Mohabbat Na Kariyo). The on-screen couple are already popular among the television viewing audience of Pakistan and recognized by their characters – Rabea (played by Zarnish) and Asad (played by Junaid). As showstopper, Zarnish Khan wore a jacquard saree with a white on white sherwani. This was part of Munib Nawaz’s 2019 wedding collection ‘November Reign’. For the look, styling was done by Arainda Noor and makeup by Nabila Salon.Commenting on the designer and showstopper duo, a notable publication remarks, “his immaculately designed sherwanis need no praise because we have already said enough but the jacquard paired with a white on white sherwani donned by Zarnish Khan just took everything to a whole new level. If I say that’s my favorite look from the whole BCW, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration.”Zarnish Khan is famously known for playing leading roles in various entertaining dramas over the years. Due to her outstanding performance in 2015, she was awarded the Best Soap actress by HUM Awards. 7th Hum Awards takes Houston by glamour storm and power-packed performances

Houston(Cliff News)One of the most anticipated awards of the year, ‘Kashmir 7th HUM Awards presented by Kashmir Cooking Oil and Banaspati, brought to you by Cadbury Dairy Milk and Eighteen Residential Project, in association with Bisconni Chocolatto was held here today at NRG Arena, Houston acclaimed to be the biggest International Pakistani Awards to be attended by top celebrities of Pakistan.The tone for the evening was set with the Red Carpet, which dazzled everyone with its amazing décor and the superstars and socialites gracing it, hosted by Ali Safina and Moomal Sheikh who kept the stars engaged throughout. The star-studded affair not only brought the bigwigs of the Pakistani entertainment industry under one roof but it also served as a great platform to showcase the true entertainment value that Pakistan offers.The show opened with the American and Pakistani national anthems presented with oomph and   patriotism, the first accompanied by their traditional parade and the second featuring artists Kubra, Farhan, Urwa, Meekal, Mawra, Imran Ashraf and Reema among many others singing fervently along with kids dressed in the flag colours. The anthems were followed by a grand opening performance of Dil Se by Haroon Rasheed in which he got Bushra to also participate. Then HUM’s showreel 2018 was shown after which the Pakistani ambassador, Erwin Missanga, president HUM Network Sultana Siddiqui and CEO HUM Netwok, Duraid Qureshi came on stage to address the audience. A riveting performance on Tu Turu Tara Tara by Ali Rehman and Meekal Zulfiqar, the first set of hosts for the evening, marked their grand entry. They announced the first award category — of Best Soap — to be presented by Shahzad Sheikh and Kubra Khan. The award went to Sanwari for its amazing story and performances, and was received by Mahesh. Best Actor Female – Soap, was presented by Sarah Khan and COO Samsol, Fauzi Saleem and went to Zainab Ahmed for her role in Maan Sadqay. It was received by Adnan Siddiqui on her behalf. Best Actor Male Soap, a category sponsored by Bank Alfalah and presented by Muneeb Butt and Hina Dilpazeer went to Usama Khan, for Sanwari. Best Childstar and Best Telefilm presented by Nadia Afghan and Ali Safeena went to Sami Khan and Is Dil Ki Aisi Ki Tesi byMD Productions, respectively.A riveting performance by Azan Sami Khan and Hania Amir on a medley of vintage Pakistani film songs that had the entire audience singing with the duo, and going wild when Azan came down the stage to dance with Reema sitting in the audience, followed.The next segment’s hosts comprising Meekal Zulfiqar and Sanam Jung took over. For the Best New Sensation Television Female and Male awards, Yasir Hussain and Iqra Aziz were invited to announce the winners, which went out to Alizeh for Ishq Tamasha received by Saife Hasan, and Usama Tahir for Dar Si Jati Hai Sila, respectively. Adnan Siddiqui and Mawra Hoccaine presented the award for Best OST which went to Bandi by Moomal Entertainment and was received by Moomal Qureshi, while Kashmir Golden Plate Award, presented by the mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner and Mohammed Akbar Muggo of Kashmir Cooking Oil went to Sultana Siddiqui for her massive contributions to society.Ahmed Ali Butt and Meekal Zulfiqar then took the mike and kept the audience in stitches with their comedy act with Butt impersonating as a mobile phone.The next hosts of the evening were Ali Rehman and Ayesha Omer who made their striking entry on a song and then invited Duraid Qureshi to present the first awards of their segment, which were Recognition Award (films), which went out to Parwaz Hai Junoon and was received by Momina Duraid, and Best Actor Male and Female awards which went out to Hamza Ali Abbasi and Hanya Aamir respectively. A trailer of a forthcoming film by HUM, Sacch, was also shown.The next awards were for Best Actor in a Supporting role Female (serial) which went out to Nadia Afghan for Suno Chanda, presented by Yumna Zaidi and president Riceland, Mrs Tahir Javed, and Best Actor in a Supporting role Male which a tie and was awarded to Yasir Hussain for Bandi and Tipu Shah for Dar Si Jati Hai Sila, presented by Zeba Bakhtiar and Dr. Mubashir Chaudhry.The mega stars of Pakistani media industry Mehvish Hayat and Ahsan Khan then set the stage on fire, with the dancing crew in accompaniment. Their electrifying performance brought the house down.The inimitable pair Ahmed Ali Butt and Bushra Ansari then came on as hosts for the next segment and invited Reema and Mr Tanveer Ahmed to present the award for Most Impactful Character in a Serial, which went to Noman Ejaz for his stunning performance in Dar Si Jati Hai Sila. Best Actor in a Negative Role also went to Noman Ejaz and was presented by senator Faisal Jawed and Moomal Shunaid. Momina Duraid and Javed Sheikh presented the next two awards – that of Best Writer Drama Serial and Best Director Drama Serial that went to Saima Akram Chaudhry for Suno Chanda and Kashif Nisar for Dar Si Jati Hai Sila, respectively. Just before the next category of award – that of Lifetime Achievement – Asim Azhar took centerstage and did an electrifying performance on the legendary singer Alamgir’s songs after which he invited the maestro himself to the stage, to the delight of the unsuspecting audience, who gave him a standing ovation. Sultana Siddiqui, together with Asim Azhar presented this award to the indefatigable Alamgir who then sang. song live to the delight of the audience.Ali Rehman and Meekal Zulfiqar, the next set of hosts of the evening invited Zahid Ahmed and Mohammed Ehteshamuddin to present the Best on Screen Couple (popular) award, sponsored by Candyland which went to Iqra Aziz and Farhan Saeed while Best Drama Serial (popular) award was presented by Noman Ejaz and Sabir Godil of Bisconni and went to Suno Chanda, received by Momina Duraid. Best Actor Female Drama Serial (popular), presented by Imran Ashraf and Tariq Hamdi of Eighteen went to Iqra Aziz for Suno Chanda while Best Actor Male Drama Serial (popular), presented by Urva Hoccaine and Uzair Adil of Eighteen went to Farhan Saeed for Suno Chanda.Ahmed Ali Butt then came to interact with the audience in his comical style, again making them roll in their seats, after which the audience was treated to a mesmerizing performance by the queen of Sufi music, Abida Parveen, keeping everyone glued to their seats, in spite of the late hours.The last set of hosts for the evening were Ahsan Khan and Sanam Jung. The jury award for Best On-Screen Couple was presented by Hania Amir and Sohail Mateen of Sensodyne and went to Iqra Aziz and Farhan Saeed while Best Drama Serial jury went to Dar Si Jati hai Sila, presented by Adnan Siddiqui and Shakeel Ahmed of Kashmir Cooking Oil. Best Actor Female Drama Serial jury was presented by Ayesha Omer and Ms Ehmareen Basit of Kashmir and went to Yumna for Dar Si Jati hai Sila while Best Actor Male Drama Serial Jury presented by Bushra Ansari and Mian Shahzad of Kashmir went to Noman Ejaz for Dar Si Jati Hai Sila bringing the thunderous night to a close.It is to be noted that HUM AWARDS successfully went international to another continent for the first time in 2018 when it went to Toronto. Following the stupendous success of the last awards, this time the US was the destination for the first time.

Karachi(Cliff News)The cast and crew of “Daastan-E-Ishq” walked the Red Carpet at the premiere of their much-awaited theatrical play at Arts Council.The play was well-attended and received by stars, media representatives and socialites attending the premiere with rave comments about the stellar performance given by the actors, and the tight-knit plot and storyline based on the popular tragic events of Heer Ranjha. Adding to the charm of the play they felt, was its brilliant music and strong narration.It may be noted that Daastan-E-Ishq had been previously performed for the British High Commission in a private show and had received much appreciation and applause, owing to which the organisers decided to offer it commercially for larger audiences and perform the play for public for ten consecutive nights.The famous love story of Heer Ranjha, originally written by Waris Shah, has this time been adapted and written by Zarqa Naz, and based on the script by Kaifi Azmi, who has renamed the story for enactment as DAASTAN-E-ISHQ. The play has been flavoured with our traditions and live music and depicts the popular folklore surrounding Heer and Ranjha who meet at a wedding and fall in love at first sight. Love blooms, but catastrophe strikes in the shape of the evil uncle Qaido, who is determined to thwart their romance.The fabulous performance by the cast Umair Rafiq as Ranjha, Sabiha Zia as Heer, and the antagonist Sameer Hussain as Qaido, narration by Akbar Ladhani as Raavi, executed in collaboration with Green Eye Production, and directed by Zarqa Naz took the audience on a historical journey to the Punjab.
